The
most important risk in
this technique is multiple
pregnancies. There is
a chance of having triplets
in about 5% cases and
of having twins in about
20% cases. Such children
are expected to be underweight
and immature because of
pre-term delivery.
About
5% women may have hyperstimulation
of ovaries because of
hormonal treatment and
this may cause serious
problems. To minimize
this complication, such
woman needs to be kept
under the constant supervision
of the treating doctor.
